We met with a real estate agent in Grand Junction. She took us around to several properties. There are a couple that look interesting. One site in Palisades had a wonderful view. Another site in Fruita had some nice big trees and an irrigation canal running through. Irrigation water is a must in the area. We quickly ruled out properties without it.
We stopped in one of the wineries in Palisades. Picked up a bottle of wine. They had some fruit wines. They melted chocolate on the rim of a glass and poured chilled cherry wine into it. It was delicious. It was nice, but I don't think it would be practical to serve as an everyday drink. We did buy a bottle of their equivalent to a white zinfandel.
We had lunch at a nice Mexican restaurant. Toured around a couple more properties, and then back to the real estate office. We finish up there and get in our car to leave. The car won't start. Something is really wrong. The engine won't turn over at all. Now we're stuck in Grand Junction, and they probably won't be able to even look at the car for servicing until Monday.
